Role Overview
Department: Manufacturing
Location: Gandimaisamma, Hyderabad
The Production Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end manufacturing and assembly operations, including daily production planning, process definition, execution control, vendor coordination, and resolution of manufacturing issues. The role requires strong shop floor involvement and leadership of the Planning Engineering function to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Coordination
Plan manufacturing activities for the day and upcoming weeks.
Prioritize urgent and emergency production requirements.
Track the status of all parts from design release through manufacturing and final assembly.
Coordinate both in-house manufacturing and outsourced/vendor produ
ction.
Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.
2. Manufacturing Process Definition
Define and document complete manufacturing process flow and routing.
Establish step-by-step production sequences for machining, fabrication, and assembly.
Continuously optimize processes for productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
3. Manufacturing & Assembly Operations
Oversee day-to-day shop floor manufacturing activities.
Supervise machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly operations.
Monitor and ensure quality standards in assembly processes.
Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
4. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
Identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly-related issues.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Minimize downtime and drive continuous process improvements.
5. Team Leadership
Lead and supervise the Planning Engineering team.
Align planning activities with production priorities and business requirements.
Coordinate with Design, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams.
Technical Skills Required
Hands-on experience in:
Milling
Turning
Sheet metal fabrication
Assembly operations (including quality tracking)
Casting (preferred)
Strong understanding of manufacturing process planning, production control, and quality standards.
Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings and inspection methods.
Qualifications & Experience
B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience,
OR
Diploma (Mechanical / Production) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience in the precision manufacturing industry is a plus.
